I can't say that I've been exposed to everything under the sun regarding trading but I've seen my share and have spent a few thousand to learn what I know about the subject and I can easily say The Pro Course offered at tradingapples.com is hands-down the best trading education I've ever received. It pulled back the curtain on the markets, so to speak, and showed me what's really going on behind the scenes. This is information I've haven't come across anywhere else and it was quite the eye-opener. Looking at a price chart now is like looking at a huge mass psychology experiment in action.
The Course offers a framework with which to view and comprehend market activity along with logical ways to take advantage of that knowledge and ultimately offers (I believe) a distinct edge to anyone who incorporates it into their trading. The concepts expressed are simple enough but when utilized together they offer great insights as to how to trade profitably. I was struck by how much this course makes SENSE. You're not left blindly following indicators, patterns, formulas, etc. (or god forbid, the news) without understanding how and why they work.
Gabriel, the founder of the website (he goes by the name "Shoot"), clearly enjoys teaching and his instruction is entertaining, engaging and easy to understand. He employs plenty of clever analogies that drive points home and sprinkles bits of humor here and there. Shoot is, however, far from a mere arm-chair theorist and has been backing up his methods with his own money for years. I would HIGHLY encourage anyone who's reading this to check out his live trading videos on youtube or his site. If you find yourself (as I did) cocking a grin and saying to yourself "Did he seriously just do that?" and "How the hell does he make this look so easy?!" over and over again, you should definitely come see what this guy is all about.
Shoot strikes me as an honest, down-to-earth, stand-up guy who has a genuine desire to help others find the success he's found by sharing his time and knowledge just as another trader did with him which, from what I understand, was a turning point in his journey towards that nigh-mythical island called Consistently-Profitable-Trader-Land. I mean, let's be real, the business of selling trading education material is a massive one and judging from the general cost of most books, courses, software and seminars, the target audience for this stuff wouldn't appear to be from a low-income household. The Pro Course set me back $99. What it teaches is worth at least 5 times that...maybe more, again, judging from the average price of material floating around in this industry. I'll never look at another multi-thousand dollar seminar and think I'd actually get my money's worth out of it, comparatively. Not that I wouldn't learn something useful but Shoot has simply ruined me forever on the idea that the bigger the price, the bigger the trading "secrets" revealed must be. He has his own "secrets" and he makes them very, very accessible to his fellow man. If there's an ulterior motive here, I don't see it.
But hey, maybe Shoot IS a total fake. Maybe he's really just a slick marketer waiting until his website is getting a bazillion hits a day so he can break up his course into four parts and charge $495 each and then offer a newsletter subscription for $195 a month as he closes his trading account for good and laughs his way to a bank in the Bahamas. Yeah...and maybe a platoon of paratrooper pigs will plummet from the skies into my backyard and $#!% a small mountain of gold so I can forget this whole trading shtick too.
As it stands right now though, the Pro Course is a steal, the information is golden and Shoot is as helpful as they come. He's available for questions the majority of the day most days from what I've seen and encourages people to ask them with his live chat feature, not to mention there's plenty of free information for the taking on the forums as well. (Along with some really interesting full-length movies and documentaries pertaining to trading and economics - this is cool stuff, trust me)
Bottom line: if you're already making a living from trading then this site may not have much to offer you (congratulations and why are you reading this review anyway, don't you have a yacht to be on or something?!) but if you're NOT or even if you're just curious about the possibility of it - do not pass this one up, folks.
