Their Teaching Guideline Have Become Obsolete & Impractical
The reality is, starting about mid 2011, due to the change of marketing sentiments and conditions, the LEVELS (OF SUPPLY & DEMAND) do not hold, which do not work as good as they used to .

THE ODDS of making winning trades using their LEVELS strategy is very low-------------- less than 10%.

OTA (Online Trading Academy) has come to a dead end in their teaching career as a result of stressing on using the concept of LEVELS.

The OTA instructors (whether teach physical classes or online classes) can not face this embarassing situation when asked by the students on how the failure rate is unbelievably so high.

All the better instructors who did not want to follow OTA's guideline have left the jobs and gone back to concentrate on their full-time live trading career using other proven useful trading strategies.

Only the mediocre instructors who stay at their jobs still need to make the real consistent income from teaching the classes, not from live trading, due to the facts they are not capable of making winning trades out of the financial markets.

The courses OTA offers are way too expensive, plus their teaching guideline (on trading the levels of SUPPLY & DEMAND) have become obsolete and impractical starting about mid 2011, It is strongly recommended to be very careful before paying the tuition for the impractical teaching guideline OTA offers.

Those that can trade...trade...Those that cant trade...Teach
Way too many red flags with this company. On yelp many of the actual "real" reviews are not even visible unless you know where to click on them. The company is built to squeeze as much money as possible out of new traders. They know the excitement level will never be higher. Once students start to trade they see how hard it is and 99% of students quit or stop trading within 3 months. Ask any staff member to show you their Profit statements from their own trading and watch the excuses. As the Review Title says...Those that can trade...trade...Those that cant trade...teach. Very hard lesson to learn as a student at the Online Trading Academy paying 10-30k in education fees.

Expensive Course
Their trading education is very basic. If you know nothing about trading then go for it. However, paying nearly $5000 for their trading program seems very insane.

I have learned ten times more regarding real charting and technical analysis from other website services that charge not even half of their most basic coarse.

One website that I would recommend going to is https://www.Trade.education to learn how to trade stocks.

took 2 course there
i took a swing trading and currency course at online trading academy. it wasn't in seattle but that's the only one i found on investimonials. the classes were decent but nothing special. I'm glad I got them discounted. If you're completely new and need to learn, it's a good place to start. If you've got experience, try something more in the prop / private fund realm.

The good and the bad
First, let me start with the good. Their instructors are fantastic and their classes are great. Unlimited retakes are nice as well.

Now the downside. The constant upselling is annoying

The Real Deal - Pro Trader Course
I have heard the people that have reviewed Online Trading Academy and are whining about this and that, and quite frankly these are the people that will fail at trading and investing. People's biggest complaint is the cost. Yes the upfront cost is expensive, but you need to look at what you intend to get out of their schooling. They bring in veterans of the industry and pay them to teach classes to us in classrooms with under 20 students providing serious insight into the real workings of the players on Wall Street. I sat in a class for 7 days and received excellent education and insight from a former Scottrade market maker and then traded Online Trading Academy's money, when the markets were open, and could have any question answered that I could come up with while trading live. Then there is the Extended Learning Track (XLT). If you think you are going to go to a class for a week and then trade "Profitably" like the pros, then you are delusional. If I spent a week with Tiger Woods, I doubt I could win the Masters. The week long course gives you a foundation of successful principles to making money in any market direction. Further mentoring is a must, and the XLT provides just that. Through the XLT, there exist a community of people all searching for the same goal of making money in the markets and instructors to show you the way, and the ProPicks to back it up. Even if your lazy, you can follow their picks and pay for your class that way. At the writing of this, I think they are up close to 40% for the year. So here is the real deal and how I look at this....It is all up to you and your personal drive to succeed. 93% of traders fail. That is a fact. Online Trading Academy provides you the seeds to your own success, its up to you to make it grow. You can either get schooling, or be schooled!! And I honestly hope you don't get educated because as a trader (The Wolf), I need people to follow the hear of sheeple (people sheep) and listen to a master shepherd like Jim Cramer so I can take your money. And since this review was based on my experience in Seattle, my hat is off to Craig who runs that office. He showed me the right path for me to take to achieve my goals, and I'm sure he can show you too. Just remember, your mind is like a parachute...It works a lot better when it is open!!

Seattle – we have a problem
I attended the seminar here in Houston (we have a problem!) courtesy of Online Trading Academy. I think it’s more than fair to assume they “teach” the same things in Seattle as they teach in Houston. I’m sure the prices were shockingly high as they are everywhere else (in excess of $2k). Forget about it – I wouldn’t attend their courses for FREE – yes that’s right!!!

Good education but rediculous fee
OTA is a franchise just like Mcdonalds or BK, brilliant .. they have different location all over US and world wide. they have different educational package and very good educational program.

The problem I have with them is the way they sell the program. They have advertising for a free trading class, its 4-5 hour class explaining how the market worls, how you can make money etc etc. the clas is very educational , instructors are really good . they answer your questions and really try to explain things you are interested to know.

Things get really weird after the class is over, when they start calling you in the office to convince you that you need the education to become a successful trader. they will tell you everything and anything to make sure you sign up the 5K pro trader 1-2 or whatever class you are interested to check out. The education counselor usually is not a professional trader but a professional sales guy and the programs they offer is really expensive.

For a trader starting up, 5K is a lot of money.... the good thing about their program is that they offer 100% rebate if you use their partner broker and you can retake the class as many times as you want for free. but then later they wil still call you and try to sell more class. lol
