Excellent Data and Application
QuoteStream has a really good breadth of data for the investor. They cover all of the US and Canadian markets and have a lot of company financial, analyst ratings, and premium news services like Dow Jones, Fly on the Wall, etc.

Like the other reviews point out QuoteStream is cheaper than offerings from esignal and others but more expensive than what you would get charged by a broker like TD Ameritrade. If you do 10 trades a month at TD you are basically paying for a QuoteStream account with the trade commissions you are paying (a broker like Zecco is ~$5/trade, Interactive Brokers is $0.50 for a 100 share trade in the US or less). You can always get a second account to do your trading and then use the tools at TD though.

The TD Ameritrade Think or Swim product has better US options trading tools than QuoteStream and, obviously, trading is more tightly integrated in the TD product (as long as you are trading at TD).

QuoteStream has more premium data, which is also available with esignal, but in a lot of cases quotestream just adds it in for free. For example Zacks. It also has really good support for Canadian markets with nethouse summaries and full financials, insiders data, etc. Like esignal you can also offload data into spreadsheets or other desktop applications.

Your investment style and the software support for that style will probably dictate the tool you end up using more than price.

Excellent Product
I've been using this for years. I've tried other products but this is the one I prefer. They add new features all of the time for free. The market data is very reliable and clean.

I do a lot of Canadian TSX trades and QuoteStream has features like net house summaries and order book info that are extremely useful.

I also like the technical charting package.

They have a large number of free news sources, that other products charge for.

Pricey data and charting
For a typical package plus data feeds can cost you $61 per month. (Quotestream Advanced + Level II, Amex/NYSE/NASDAQ/Pink/OTC) You can get the same from TDAmeritrade or Thinkorswim for free. Java based desktop software is pretty cool. I wish it were more customizable like changing colors and superimposing lower technicals as you start to loose screen space. I used it for about a month and moved to TDAmeritrade with Thinkorswim Desktop.
