I only tried the 2 week free trial to his stock service, Levittbrothers (LB) is not bad. Jason is very knowledgable and diligent, exceptional teacher/communicator, but the setups did not help me, so I couldn't justify spending $60/mo on a membership. I do well independently so I sort of have high standards and feel a newsletter should pay for itself almost right away, in this case within 2 weeks, to be worth your time.
First of all, the performance of the stock picks at LB was never clearly stated.... on top of that, he has a extremely short trial period of only two weeks (Interestingly, his options newsletter does state performance and gives a longer 4 week trial period). Furthermore, he only gives you a "sampling" of his picks but ONLY the winners and doesn't give you the selection process used to comes up with them. It's sort of difficult for me to assess the performance when I only have the numerator of the proportion to work with.... anyhow, I kept track of the gains and losses of the two week trial... and found that the expected value of these setups is between 1-2% over ~ 1-2 weeks. So about 25% of the time you'd get a nice 10%+ gain, but the rest of the time you'd be lucky to break even or be slightly in negative territory... I was sort of hoping for something like 50% of the time to get the 10%+ gain and break even on the rest. I should note these numbers were based on a fairly large number of setups but were unfortunately over a short period of time and so are admittely inaccurate... it would be interesting if others have a more reliable assessment over a longer time period.
Instead of LB, I recommend going with Brian Shannon's premium service at the same price because I think Shannon's repuation as a successful trader is better established. Shannon's videos and demonstrations are better too. I think both Shannon and LB are probably both good, but I'd have more confidence with Shannon. It would be nice if you could use ivbucks to purchase at least a one month membership into each of these services to see for yourself!! hint, hint, nudge, nudge
