I really enjoy this show because it represents capitalism and the American Dream. It illustrates that in America if you have a great idea or a great product--something that other Americans want--you have the opportunity to become a success.
Others criticize the fact that the sharks simply end up getting richer, but c'mon.... Having a great idea or an innovative product is only the beginning of the process. Getting the product made and distributed is extremely difficult, so enlisting an investor to help make that happen is often the only way to achieve your dream. What's wrong with that?
To those naysayers who criticize the sharks for getting a pct of an entrepreneur's company, why shouldn't they be rewarded for helping the newbie become successful? Which would you rather have: 100% of a $150k company or 75% or a $5 million company?
I love the fact that everyday people can get access to someone like Kevin O'Leary or Barbara Corcoran and try to convince them to invest in their idea/product so they can achieve their American Dream. Great show!
