Thinkorswim has great charts, great studies you can add to the charts, and lots of useful features. However, they have committed unforgivable crimes. My trade tickets have come up wrong 4 times in the past month. 3 of 4 times I noticed before I clicked SEND TICKET, but the one time I clicked send by accident my order was NOT what I clicked before. I almost feel tricked, because I make sure my numbers are correct before I see the ticket. 4 times I have prepared a ticket and seen the numbers come up different. One of those instances 3 happened sequentially, right after the other.
I decided improper tools are no way to trade, so I initiated an ACATS transfer. They are so mixed up over there, it'd been 4 days and the transfer had not even initiated. Then I got a notice saying it was cancelled. Probably because its close to expirations friday and they want my exercise fees. Exercise fees which I don't have to pay at my new broker.
I use TDAmeritrade, Sogotrade, and Interactive Brokers. Had slight problems with Sogotrade, but nothing of this magnitude, nothing that costed me money and this much time. Thinkorswim used to be great, but now that the merger has begun, they are total crap. I call and 2 people tell me completely different stories about the ACATS - agent 1 says i have to cancel from the other broker's end. agent 2 says I have to type and sign a letter to cancel the transfer??? Sounds like BS--- I will keep this updated when it all settles
