Really nice website and now, iPad app.

Great website with A LOT of filters (technical and Candlesticks).

I haven't yet tried their iPad app but the Standard $8.95 monthly subscription gives you access to the website and usage in the iPad app.

Great Tool

This is one of my tools that I use everyday to screen for potential trades. It does have a bit of a learning curve to learn to properly code your scans but they have a great forum with a lot of people that are eager to help. And all for $9 a month, hard to beat!

Def worth a look

I still use some of the screens here. And for $8.95/month its probably the best bang for bank screener out there. Takes a little gettin used to.. to figure it out. but worth $9/month.. If you can afford $9/month.. Stop trading.. you suck.. And you need that money for food to survive!

Very impressive stock screening tool!!!

Pros:-

4) decent number of technical indicators available for filtering.

5) Very fast web interface that returns results in seconds.

6) Back testing available for filters.

The most affordable screener

This stuff can be complicated, but if you know your coding, then this can be a key to helping you pick your stocks exactly how you want it... I recommend visiting the forums on there to get some great codes and read over the user guide.

Useful but very complicated

I can tell that this is a powerful tool but it is extremely complicated to use unless you're a computer programmer. I've come back to the tool a few times and other folks in my investment club have had similar experiences. Just too confusing and time consuming.

I would pay hundreds of dollars a month for this. Once you learn to write in the scan language this is the most valuable tool you will use.

StockFetcher - The best $9 bucks EVER

I use this ever since Muddy (greenonthescreen.blogspot.com) always used to preach about it. Since then I've been better able to understand exactly what he looks for and how he couples the scans with former runners he's always known. Before you know it you're going to know every ticker on the exchanges. SERIOUSLY. You'll know if they have a history of GOOD runs, MULTI DAY runs or if they're always just SOLID TRASH! This is one of the best scanning tools out there. Get it. Get it now.

One of the best stock screening tools

Fewer features offered than the StockFetcher Advanced versions; however, this is still one of the best sites / apps used to screen the markets for great stocks. In addition to their web interface, you can also download a separate app. It's so easy and quick to write a script to screen the entire market for your specific criteria. The speed of the website is also impressive, considering how many stocks it has to screen. If you aren't an expert coder, don't worry. The programming language on this site if so easy to learn. If you get stuck there are so many helpful members in the forum. I usually use this site as a quick screening tool and then export (copy-paste) the stocks to Excel or Trade Ideas for further analysis and/or alerts.

The only complaint I have is that they really have not added too many new features, script capabilities in a few years. Instead they have focused their attention on the stand-alone app, which some of us still don't use. Their programming language has so much potential, but they have ignored improving it. For example, instead of supplying us with convenient "if / then / and / or" statements, we have to write out complicated binary translations (count the number of times an event A has occurred in the last 1 day times count the number of times an event B has occured in 1 day and display all stocks = 1 (A * B)). Additionally, I wish they would allow us to screen the markets in real-time; at this point it's 20 minutes delayed. I ended up using Trade Ideas for my real-time screening and Stockfetcher for after-hours. The site developers really need to listen to their customers' suggestions.

More powerful than free screeners, lower price than big guns

Stockfetcher has a really handy screening tool for those who are a bit green to manual coding of screening criteria and realize that sometimes you need more power than the free screeners currently out there provide (e.g. Finviz; haven't tried Finviz Elite yet).

They provide you with their own proprietary front-end code, which comes in a manual downloaded from their website's main menu, and you use this to set up your customized screens, or if you're a bit impatient just use the Filter Builder and lego-block-build it from the library of ready-make components. The forum area isn't the most active from what I've seen, but there are other users there who share info on how to improve screens and what they use for their own strategies.

At $8.95 per month, it's not a bad investment. They've been around for a while and have put considerable effort into tweaking their coding for good performance. Give 'em a shot.
