Incredible Trader, but Duplicating Performance Difficult
First off, let it be known that Vader is an incredible trader. He consistently pulls money out of the market. Doesn't get over-leveraged, keeps his emotions under control, doesn't overtrade very often, doesn't take big losses, stops are usually 1-2 points on ES futures, 3-4 on NQ. My biggest personal wins as a subscriber have come with GS gold futures. He'll also throw out a few forex, options and stocks from time to time. His latest picks of ISRG and LNKD have done quite well...
He does do a chatroom on tinychat now, the link changes every day. If you're just following the free @Vader7x twitter, you're trading blind. You have to sign up at $100/month and subscribe to the @VaderTrades twitter to get his daily trading plan/charts and access to the chat room. He's also known to just post trades in the chatroom but not on twitter, and vice-versa. So you should have the chat up all day, as well as get his @VaderTrades twitter sent to your cell phone via SMS. SMS seems to be faster than getting it on the twitter website, and with day-trading futures you have to be quick.
Even as a subscriber I don't know his exact track record, but follow him for a few days in the chat room and you'll see how well he does. I don't even know if he could tell you his average wins in points per day. One day might just be +2, the next -3, the next +10 or more. If you can trade exactly like him, I'm confident you'll make an incredible amount of money. There's several subscribers who have years and years of professional trading experience. I suppose they follow him to keep themselves consistent, as well as to bounce ideas off each other. If you're an experienced trader I think you'll really enjoy being a subscriber.
That being said, it's that last sentence that's the hard part:
1) You can't be a noob and trade exactly like Vader. He scales his positions and if you don't know anything about that, then you'll be at a disadvantage. You'll buy long at 1325 like he posted, it goes up to 1327, but then down to 1323. So now you're down 2 points while he's been scaling and improving his theo average to 1323.50. If he gets stopped out at 1323 then he's only down -.5 while you're down -2. Big difference. ES futures will be trading in a 2 point range for an hour, and Vader will be trading in that area improving his average - however he won't be posting those exact trades. It would probably happen too fast for him to post it in time anyways. So if you don't know anything about scaling, you won't be able to duplicate his performance.
2) While I'm on the subject of scaling, if you aren't trading at least 4 contracts in a position, you won't be able to scale out of trades like he does. Normally he scales in 1/4 increments. So with ES contracts you're looking at least a $20k+ trading account for 4 contracts.
3) You can't just pick out a couple of trades a week and expect them to be winners. He has plenty of losing trades, IMO he probably gets stopped out at least 40-50% of the time. You have to take all his trades cause you never know when it's gonna turn out to be an 8 point winner. So plan on having the chat room and your SMS app up at all times where you can see it. Quite a few times his trades moved away so fast that I wasn't able to get my order placed in time. And of course, those trades always seem to be 5+ winners. So you better have a job where you can put in an order within a few seconds of him posting it. Even better if you're a full-time trader.
4) There's not very much education for the beginner unless you ask for it. Even then, there's no videos or blog posts available. You'll pretty much need to learn for yourself about scaling (FT71 would be a resource), VWAP, NVPOC, Market Profile, Divergence, stuff like that. If you know those things you'll be able to follow along better and known when to scale and whatnot.
So, in summary, IF you can trade exactly like Vader, or even close to him, you'll do well. He's a pro. Why he has a service instead of getting a job at Goldman Sachs, I don't know. He's that good. Whether that translates into your own account, is a different story. Just don't sign up thinking it'll be easy to make 5-10 ES points a day with his service, when you've never traded before in your life. I suppose if he live-streamed his order screen we'd be golden, or maybe if he did Covestor...
