I have a long history with investing and trading which is not an understatement by any means. I knew Anthony Giacomin prior to his move to Stage5 which was hardly coincidental; we had a discussion following financial events of 2011 where I learned more about the clearing business and the need to know how not to get eaten alive unnecessarily. There were casualties following the events of that year as most of us know. I followed Anthony to Open E-Cry where I was introduced to FT71. I already had an interest and experience in Market Profile in its expanding iterations and found someone who I felt could speak knowledgeably about trading and becoming profitable.
Trading is something that you need to walk into with your eyes open. I am not a pessimist or I wouldn't have continued trading; I already had a job (retired as of this year), a pension, tax exempt savings etc. and they aren't funding my trading endeavor. FT71 will be the first to explain to a potential client or current client that trading success doesn't fall into your lap and hopefully, anyone who reads this already understands this fact. At the same time futures and its related instruments play a major role in the world economy and are usually misunderstood by a casual observer.
I mention this because unlike most broker and brokerage owners (I know a couple at least), FT71 (it's his handle now not a mystery) and Anthony Giacomin, now Managing Partner, have a vested interest in providing traders, new and slightly “weathered” alike, the tools, information, training and follow-up so that their customers might succeed. That is their bottom line. Will FT71 say, “You need to step back a bit from the market and be careful?” Yes, but he will show you why and explain how to move forward. That alone makes them unique and a tremendous brokerage. Stage5 provides more value added services than you will find anywhere in the brokerage business to the best of my knowledge.
I wrote this endorsement after some time for various reasons but this week Anthony Giacomin and Max Timms, a Broker with Stage5, spent several hours assisting me with an annoying and agonizing computer problem. Anthony had already spent a good part of one afternoon and then Max followed up the afternoon of the next day. A third party vendor needed to be contacted.
Max connected to my PC remotely and a short time later we were joined the 3rd party vendor via text and another remote connection. As Max and I watched and waited I asked Max if he needed to leave but he said no and he proved knowledgeable about the software and also a diplomat with the third-party representative. Frustration on the customer’s part can impede progress and I noted that Max was providing support to me in more than one way and so it is duly noted.
Previously Max assisted in setting up a special account for me. That too involved a third party and paperwork, new passwords, account settings, etc. I had known that Max was diligent and thorough. He also mentioned a couple changes at Stage5 and provided information and followed up.
I've tried to give you my perspective on Stage5, its benefits and my interaction with Anthony, FT71, and Max. Every other telephone call, question, request for assistance from other representatives of Stage5 reflects the comments I have just made.
There are new services, software (an updated S5 Trade Analyzer), training and more that are being built and tested at this time. It emphasizes what I believe is their unique niche in a quickly changing investing landscape.
Please note, I am not a major cog in OEC or Stage5's financial engine or a friend or family member of Stage5 Trading or employees. I took time to write because I feel that I have received something of value and it has been earned by those who I have mentioned. I think that knowing and trusting your broker is important. I also do not mean to disparage the brokerage and especially Anthony's former colleagues in the process.
