Their claim to fame is superior customer satisfaction, which you can tell by the J.D Power and Associates survey of online brokers. Good for buying mutual funds. Don't have a lot of the fees others have, but do not like their active tools for investing.

Not the best executions but solid customer service and fair commissions.
"Only really a good broker if you need the in depth tools that come with Scottrade Elite. Else you will be paying higher fees for a mediocre broker. I will continue to use them for research, but I have opened an account with another broker that I will use for the majority of my future trades."
