We just wanted to comment on two poor reviews recently left.
The latest from "Sre155" whose profile shows his name as "Ryan Edwards". It's very easy for us to reset a password and takes just a minute or two so we would never purposefully do that.
We could not find ever having a subscriber by the name of Ryan Edwards and nothing close to Sre155. Going back 10 years, nobody by that name. Checked our emails as we keep them all and found nothing as well.
It makes us think that maybe it's a fake bad review by a competitor (it's happened to use before) because it's the only review this user ever made. If this is a real customer, PLEASE shoot an email or use our contact page. We want to fix that and will add plenty of time to your subscription.
The second one from LSPatwa is a special case.
While it was much longer than a week, we did receive the request. Also, you can reach us by phone because I actually SPOKE to him on the phone.
Before we could issue a refund, a chargeback was filed by the customer's credit card so the money was taken out of our account. Since it was too late to issue a refund our only option was to send a payment.
However, we could no longer issue a refund because a chargeback was made. We contacted the customer to ask that the chargeback be cancelled and we would then be able to send a refund or a payment another way. (There has been times where we sent a check or PayPal payment as a refund and THEN a chargeback was filed on us so we lost twice the subscription price!)
It was the customer's bank that declined the chargeback. We had no control over that. The bank stated that the reasons given for the chargeback were not true so they cancelled the chargeback. The customer's account is again active. After trying again to contact him, to see what we can do, we've heard nothing. Just this review.
Our reputation as an honest place is our most important asset. We don't want to ruin it just to keep a few dollars. It's not worth it.
There is a review also here earlier that had an issue with a refund and then he added a comment that he was contacted and given a refund right away and was now happy.
Less than 1% of our customers as for a refund and a huge number renew every year. We have found that about half of the refund requests were people trying to use our service for free. Previously, we had no way to track it, and people would subscribe for 3 months, ask for a refund, then using another email address, subscribe again and 3 months later ask for a refund. And on and on.... Because we didn't see their credit card information, we had no idea. So, we just need to be careful... but do issue refunds.
