IBKR is a good broker for every account size. The executions are fast and comprehensible. Commissions are low. TWS offers some nice gadgets but charting is bad. But it's not a problem if you use an external charting service. Small- and Microcap Borrows may be above average compared to other retail Read more...
"Yes, I just described a brokerage as generous -- and yes, this is an industry in which ""doesn't screw you over"" is the best compliment a brokerage can receive. Let me explain... I'm referring to something most people haven't heard of and probably don't care about -- the IB Student Trading Lab. I Read more...
I have used IB for almost two years. The main reason I started with them was for the cheap commissions (mainly trading <1000 shares US and Canadian). On average, I save about 70% on commission comapred to Scotia i-Trade. They have a very powerful direct to market trading platform and don't cha Read more...

Fast Java-based platform. This is one of the cheapest ways to trade in the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania). Commissions are high, pay 0.2 c / per transaction, but not least $ 7. If you buy 100 shares, pay $ 7. If you buy 350 shares, pay $ 7. If you buy 500 shares, pay $ 10. The same ru Read more...
Low commissions, all exchanges available, no arbitrary rules about shorting stocks under a dollar, lots of hard-to-borrow stocks, reliable execution and software --> what more could you want? Maybe a little bit better in customer service but otherwise very good. Whatever limitations it has, it s Read more...
I have used them all, TD Ameritrade, E-Trade, Schwab, OptionsHouse, and Interactive Brokers is by the best. The have the best trading platform, customer service is very good, and cost per trade is best in the industry. I would choose them first if you trade often.
